It’s the most wonderful time of the year! No, not Pisces season. It’s the Epcot International Festival of the Arts! This is my favorite festival after the Festival of the Holidays, and I think it’s severely underrated. From January 18 to February 25, you can enjoy the best of visual, culinary and performing arts around Epcot.
There’s something for everyone to enjoy at this year’s festival, from colorful photo ops to drawing workshops and much more! Luckily for you, I picked all of my favorites to highlight in this year’s photo diary. Read on to find out what you simply must do at the 2019 Epcot Festival of the Arts.
Maybe it’s the Ad-PR major in me, but I’m obsessed with the branding for the Festival of the Arts. From the rainbow display at the entrance to the adorable festival passport and the multitude of decor around the park, there are enough cute photo ops to keep your Instagram beautiful indefinitely!
One of my favorite parts of last year’s festival was the paint-by-numbers wall, and I was so happy to see it back at the 2019 Epcot Festival of the Arts! They swap out the painting every couple of days, but somehow I still ended up with the same one I did last year. Still a super fun (and free) experience! Last year they had all of the paintings displayed near the Universe of Energy (RIP). Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case this year. @Disney, bring back the paint-by-numbers gallery!
Another thing that makes the Festival of the Arts so unique is the opportunity to take a drawing class from a Disney animator! There are animation academy classes about every half-hour in the afternoon, and each one features a different character. The animators are really great at making the drawing process very simple and accessible for everyone in the class, so don’t worry if you aren’t an experienced artist. I’m
There’s art to be found throughout all of Epcot, from sidewalk designs to themed portraits at character meet and greets. And be sure to browse the various art kiosks around Future World and the World Showcase! I picked up an adorable postcard featuring Rapunzel and Flynn from Tangled that I can’t wait to frame in my room.
The food is always one of my favorite parts of any festival. The 2019 Epcot Festival of the Arts had some of my favorite food items that I’ve tried in a while—and luckily for this blog, it was all very photogenic! My must-haves are the sushi donut from the Japan Pavilion, the seared scallops served with ginger-habanero and yucca purée from the Mexico Pavilion, and the sweet & sour balsamic-glazed pork ribs from the Italy Pavilion.
As for dessert, I’m still obsessed with the deconstructed cheesecake from the Deconstructed Dish kiosk. When
One of the highlights of the 2019 Epcot of the Arts is their Broadway performances! The Disney on Broadway lineup was fantastic this year, featuring well-known performers like Gavin Lee (Mary Poppins, The Spongebob Squarepants Musical), Heidi Blickenstaff (The Little Mermaid, Freaky Friday), Kerry Butler (Beauty and the Beast, Mean Girls) and many more! I’ve had “Jolly Holiday” stuck in my head for over a week now thanks to
That about wraps up my 2019 Epcot Festival of the Arts photo diary! I’m such a fan of this festival, and it’s been awesome to witness it grow and get better every year since it began. If you’ve been, what was your favorite part? As much as I loved the food this year, I think the Disney on Broadway performances took the cake for me. Let me know in the comments!
