Hi, 2019! My Resolutions and Blogging Goals

resolutions and blogging goals

Happy New Year! I hope your 2019 is off to a great start. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you might be a little surprised to see a post like this. After all, the vast majority of the content on this site has been theme park guides and photo diaries or the like. Don’t worry—that won’t be changing. (In fact, I have a Disney pin style guide in the making right now…but no spoilers!)

I do want to make sure that I keep evolving though, so the main point of this post is to share that in 2019, I’ll be incorporating some more variety into my posts. You’ll be seeing a bit more of my life, like travel diaries that might not involve Disney parks and lifestyle posts that will hopefully give you a little more insight into exactly who I am and what I love.

resolutions and blogging goals

With that being said, now seems like as good a time as ever to document my resolutions and blogging goals for 2019! I’m a big believer in the power of the New Year as a catalyst for change and growth, and boy do I have a lot of that in mind this year. Let’s start off with…

Personal Resoluations

  • Commit to a healthier lifestyle.

I know, this is probably the least unique resolution of all time. But I began working towards a more active lifestyle and clean eating at the end of 2018, and I want more than anything to keep that momentum going! (Walking around Epcot’s World Showcase for five hours straight counts as cardio, right?)

  • Focus on individuality.

This will probably be my hardest resolution to maintain, but it’s also the most important one. Spending a lot of time on Instagram and in the blogging world is the easiest way to fall into the “comparing yourself to others” rabbit hole, and I definitely took a few tumbles down there in 2018. This year, I’m going to focus on viewing others as sources of inspiration, not comparison.

  • Set goals and follow through.

I’m really proud of what I accomplished in 2018. I became the editor-in-chief of Her Campus at UCF, I turned an internship into a part-time job, and I even traveled to New York City to attend my first ever professional conference. In 2019, I’m going to focus on setting goals for the most important aspects of my life and taking concrete steps to meet those goals. Speaking of goals, let’s move on to…

Blogging Goals

I’m not a big fan of focusing too much on the numbers for my blog, but there are a few milestones that I would love to meet in 2019:

  • Publish a blog post at least twice a month.
  • Receive over 15,000 total pageviews.
  • Average over 1,000 unique monthly visitors.

I only wrote around once a month last year, so I think doubling that amount is a very feasible goal. I averaged about 350 unique monthly visitors and received about 2,000 total pageviews, so the other two goals might be a bit lofty, but I’ll be using this amazing template from Jessica Slaughter (one of my favorite bloggers) to stay on track!

Do you have any resolutions or blogging goals (or regular goals) for 2019? If so, let me know in the comments so we can exchange some encouragement and support! If there’s anything you’d like me to post about, definitely let me know as well. I’m always looking for new ideas!

I hope your 2019 is filled with all the positivity and happiness you deserve—let’s make it the one yet!
