Guess what: Christmas is next week! What better time of year to do some resort-hopping at Walt Disney World? Although pretty much all of Disney property is decorated for the holidays, I love to experience Christmas at the Disney World Resorts the most! Of course, with limited time (and gas money) it can be hard to see the decorations at every single resort, so my friends and I narrowed it down to Disney’s Grand Floridian and Boardwalk. We spent the day searching for hidden Mickeys on a gingerbread carousel, opening gifts under a giant Christmas tree, and of course having mini photoshoots! Here’s a look at some of the Christmas magic we experienced:
The Grand Floridian
We started our morning at Disney’s Grand Floridian. The lobby boasts an absolutely beautiful Christmas tree and an enormous gingerbread house, as well as plenty of cozy spots to open presents. After we finished exploring and taking photos, we went to the Grand Floridian Café for brunch! It was my first time dining there, and I was definitely not disappointed. The café was decorated to be as festive as the rest of the resort, and the french toast I had was so delicious. (The piña colada wasn’t half bad either!) After brunch, we took some pictures outside of the resort before we headed to Disney’s Boardwalk.
Fun fact: Disney’s Boardwalk is my favorite place to take photos no matter the time of year! The pastel buildings and laid-back scenery always make for great backdrops, but the Christmas decor takes it to another level. After some exploring and picture-taking, we headed to Disney’s Beach Club to check out the gingerbread carousel. It wouldn’t be right to celebrate Christmas at the Disney World resorts without a little hidden Mickey hunting, and it only took us about fifteen minutes to find all them on the carousel! It was a super fun challenge that I would definitely recommend to anyone interested.
I hope you enjoyed this little peek at Christmas at the Disney World resorts! I know this is a short post – the holiday season has rendered me quite busy! My New Year’s resolution is to dedicate more time to this blog, so rest assured that more posts are on the way soon. In the meantime, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year. Here’s to a 2018 filled with more blog posts (and more Disney trips)!
