Happy November! Pop quiz: what’s your favorite part of the month? I wouldn’t blame you if you answered “Thanksgiving,” but let’s be real – the best part of November is stepping out in style on Dapper Day. This year, I went for a classic holiday-ready look complete with pantyhose and (gasp) heels! I had a lovely day with my friends, and of course I wanted to share it with you as soon as possible. What better way to do so than a photo diary?
This Fall Dapper Day, I went with a modern but classic dress with matching sleeves and pantyhose and a pointy toe heel to top it off. The dark green color ended up being perfect for posing with holiday decor around the Magic Kingdom! I stuck with simple curls for my hair, and my makeup was just a slightly upgraded version of what I usually wear. Luckily, it was a very nice day out and no frizz or makeup melting occurred! Perfect for participating in the most sacred Dapper Day tradition: excessive photo shoots!
Photo Shoot #1 – Main Street, U.S.A.
This little alley across from the Emporium is a super cute place for Dapper Day pictures! The flower pots and Christmas wreaths make for lovely backdrops, and it’s a nice place to escape the crowds as well. It was great mingling with some other Dapper Day goers too!
Photo Shoot #2 – Cinderella’s Castle
Depending on the time of day, it can be hard to take pictures in front of Cinderella’s castle with good lighting or minimal crowds, not to mention both. For the first shot, we were in front of the castle pretty early in the afternoon, so it was fairly empty. However, the lighting was pretty unforgiving (hence the entire lack of my face in that shot). The second shot was taken later in the evening a bit before sunset, so the crowds were a bit less sparse but the lighting was perfect. Either way, I always support a good old castle photo shoot – you can’t go wrong!
Photo Shoot #3 – Castle Wall
Right next to the Mad Tea Party in Fantasyland is a little alcove that always offers a simple backdrop for pictures! Emily and I took advantage of the good lighting for some pictures together, and I’m so glad we did! Plus, when you’re done taking photos, you can treat yourself to a raspberry lemonade slushy and a Cheshire Cat tail (aka a chocolate croissant) from the Cheshire Café!
Photo Shoot #4: Gaston
Okay, this isn’t really a photo shoot, but I can never pass up meeting Gaston! Plus, our outfits were so complimentary. (I think mine was a little bit more dapper though!)
Photo Shoot #5: Train Station
We stopped by the Train Station on our way in and out of the park for shots at two different times of the day! I love the way you can get Cinderella’s Castle and the Main Street Christmas tree in the background at this photo spot. Plus, usually it’s not too crowded!
Bonus: Christmas Comes to Main Street, U.S.A.
Just a little look at some of the Christmas decorations currently adorning Main Street! I don’t want to include too many in case I decide to write a blog post detailing them at some point. If you’ve never visited the Magic Kingdom during the holiday season, I so recommend it! There’s no better way to get into the spirit.
I hope you liked reading this little photo recap of my Dapper Day experience! I’ve been working on my photography, so hopefully that shows a little in some of the pictures I shared here. Have you ever been to Dapper Day? Comment and tell me about your experience, or link me to your Instagram so I can check out all your photo shoots!
Until next time! x
