Mid-April Adventures

Mid-April Adventures

To quote Britney, “oops, I did it again”-  I accidentally neglected to update my blog for a little while again! In my defense, I think I have a pretty good excuse: college is trying to kick my butt, but I think I kicked its butt harder, because it looks like I’m going to finish with a 4.0 for the semester. I wanted to wait until I really had free time to update here again, and thankfully, it looks like that time is now!

If you weren’t aware, I’m a pretty huge fan of the concept of spring cleaning, of both my home and my blog. I decided to change the theme of my blog and spruce up the sidebar a little, so now it has custom links to my social media and a little Tigger pixel to celebrate the current season: spring!

Anyway, instead of spending this post describing the last month of my life in detail, I’m just going to attach some photos with descriptions of a few adventures I’ve had since my last update:

…starting with my birthday! I turned nineteen on March 12th, and I can tell you with absolute certainty that I feel completely the same. If anything, I’m a little annoyed, because nine is one of my least favorite numbers. But celebrating my birthday at Disney was a blast, especially with magical friends like Emily, Becky, and Dani!

My next adventure took place somewhere a little unexpected: Universal Studios! My friend Marley brought me for f r e e!!! We started out our day by meeting some famous characters, including Beetlejuice, Marilyn Monroe, and the whole Scooby Doo gang! I felt a little out of my element due to being a Disney fanatic and all, but I’ve decided that Universal is magical in its own way. I mean, where else can Beetlejuice ask to eat your soft pretzel and then leave his meet and greet to take you on a brief walk? Nowhere, probably.

You’re probably thinking, “that’s great Nicole, but what about Diagon Alley?” Well, rest assured that I made a stop there too! The area is impeccably themed right down to the treats you can buy. I decided to try some fizzy orange juice, and in my very humble opinion it ended up being about 10x better than butterbeer. Of course I had to take an aesthetic selfie holding it:

Unfortunately, my crappy immune decided to pull one over on me and I had to leave before I got to see any Mardi Gras festivities. Luckily, there’s always next year!

My last adventure to cover in this post is a little less specific: I want to talk about how much writing for Her Campus has meant to meant to me this year. We celebrated our end-of-the-year banquet last week, and being surrounded by so many talented writers was a huge reminder of how honored I am to write with them. My absolute favorite part of this semester was helping out with the Her Campus Tour, when the national team came to visit UCF’s campus with some help from sponsors like Essence and Aeropostale!

Spring semester has been such an amazing journey so far, and I hope the last week and a half are as great as the rest of it has been. Summer is creeping up so quickly, and I can’t wait to update this blog more often and expand it to include some more exciting topics, like sharing some of my writing for Her Campus and documenting my journey as I start my first bullet journal! Here’s to an amazing spring, and the multitude of fun times to come – starting tomorrow, when Lena and Emily and I are set to head to the beach!

Thanks for reading this post and dealing with my somewhat inconsistent updating schedule. I promise to be more consistent going forward! Until next time!
